Masonry is a progressive science that dedicates its self into to making good men better and better men great.

What is Freemasonry? Freemasonry (or Masonry) is dedicated to the brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God. It uses the tools and implements of ancient architectural craftsmen symbolically in a system of instruction designed to build character and moral values in its members. Its bonds of friendship, compassion and brotherly love have survived even the most divisive political, military and religious conflicts through the centuries. Freemasonry is a fraternity which encourages its members to practice the faith of their personal acceptance. Masonry teaches that each person, through self improvement and helping others, has an obligation to make a difference for good in the world.i

Masons Helping Masons

“This program is to help the small lodges in our Great Commonwealth. We as brother are taught to extend Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. What better way can we help our own in case or cases of need. Charity can start at home. Masons helping Masons. It is our plan to let this program run for years. At the current time we have no funds in which to help our own lodges. The money collected will be placed in a special fund, available only for lodges in need. The Rules for applying for help financial will be: Submit a budget of income and expenses, and assets; Submit a letter of need.” District Deputy Grand Masters Handbook.

The start of any worthwhile endeavor starts with a vision and planning and then executing that plan. This year the Grand Master Herman M. Forester has developed the Masons Helping Masons Committee whose purpose is to help Lodges continue Masonry. The Masons Helping Masons Committee is putting together fund raisers to help fund this worthwhile endeavor. The first Fund Raiser is the selling of Mason Helping Masons Pins, the cost of which is $10.00 the proceeds of which half will be going to the Masonic Homes of Kentucky and the other half will be going to the Masons Helping Masons Fund.

The future thoughts of this committee are to assist those Lodges that need help. Within the next few years the committee will develop a clearing house for Masonic items such altars, Lodge jewels etc.., donations of which will come from Lodges that are updating their items, consolidations and also donations. The Committee will then disperse those items to Lodges that need assistance.

Brothers please assist the Masons Helping Masons (MHM) Committee by purchasing a Masons Helping Masons Pin for $10.00 or a Neck Tie for $35.00. To purchase one please see your Area Representative, District Deputy Grand Master or MHM Committee Member.

You may find out further information about this project by contacting MHM Committeman G.Michael Miller Sr.
